Junior staff are assigned preliminary tasks, i.e. requesting books, checking they have been received etc. Often several stages are completed at one time, they mark the final stage complete but it leaves all preceding steps in their job stages, leading to confusion and lack of accurate data to senior staff who must pick the next stages up.
