Currently the MTD for VAT functionality in Taxfiler appears to only poll the HMRC server when viewing a specific client's return.
If a VAT return is filed outside of Taxfiler (e.g. client using their own software), the return would display as Open until the client is clicked on.
If Taxfiler could routinely poll the MTD API for changes, it would make it much easier to remain up to date on VAT returns status.
