I want to be able to add a note on share based payments to comply with FRS 102. This is not currently provided for and it seems like there is no plan to do so.
I have just been told by Taxfiler support you cannot add a note for Government Grants in FRS 102 1A accounts. I am sure there are going to be many many businesses who have received the government's Covid support. So much so that the support is material. Therefore to give a true and fair view a disclosure is required by the standard.
Unfortunately, since the introduction of iXBRL and the requirement to tag everything in the accounts, the addition of free form notes and such formatting requests also means we need to consider how the detail will be tagged. Adding the ability to apply tags is not something we plan to do and it would be impossible to automatically apply tags.
HMRC require the accounts 'that are presented to the shareholders', therefore excluding any free notes from filleted accounts for the registrar but leaving them in place for HMRC would still mean the need to tag.
A better solution would be to add a table of taggable items to a note as it is prepared, and then the system automatically assembles the note, however, we would require details of any such note . Sorry there is no easy answer to this issue.
I agree, this would be helpful. A "free note" like the one in the accounting policies. However, it may be a little more complex because, these notes are not necessarily one which would be filed with the Registrar on filleted accounts.
Sometimes there is a need to do notes such as prior year adjustments, more detail for changes in share capital, and other additional areas. There is the ability to add a general note in the accounting policies, there should be this function in notes.

Taxfiler is non-compliant.

Can we please prioritise this, but also make it possible to add tables at the same time

Thank you Amy for your response

What additional notes would you be looking at adding to the accounts?
